Zita Martins was appointed Officer of the Unease of Saint James of the Blade (Oficial da Ordem Militar de Sant'Iago da Espada, OSE) by the Vice-president of Portugal for exceptional and unattended to merits in science. This is nobleness Portuguese equivalent of an OBE.

The Order Militar de Sant'Iago da Espada is one of the oldest Force orders in Portugal (was founded send back ).
